Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Hays Education are working closely with an FE college to find a Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, the position is full time and to start immediately on a contract until 14 JUl 10.
Work Knowledge
Essential -Post apprenticeship experience gained in a wide range of Electrical Engineering; Industrial installation/domestic or commercial.
Desirable -Building Services Engineering Experience of working with apprentices.
A good understanding of the relevant issues in Further and Higher education.
Training/teaching experience.
Experience and knowledge of current BTEC HNC/D, City & Guilds and NVQ programmes.
Qualifications
Essential -Educated to Level 3/4 standard.
Recognised (Indentured) apprenticeship.
IT literate - equivalent to level 2.
Possess or be willing to obtain Vocational Assessor Award A1, A2.
Possess or be willing to obtain V1 Verifier Award.
Desirable -Building Services, Electrical & Lighting Design, Environmental Services.
Teaching qualification (if not will be required to obtain a PGCE within 2 years of employment).
Current industry standard software packages (Hevacomp software)
CG 2382 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, CG 2392 Inspection & Test Certs.
Qualified and experienced in domestic, commercial and industrial process plants.

Essential - Good range of industrial Electrical Engineering skills and knowledge.
Ability to motivate learners of all ages and backgrounds.
Computer literate.
Competent in the use of MS Office, particularly Power Point. Able to use Internet and Intranet services.
Excellent communicator with diplomacy and tact in verbal and written situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with learners and staff.
Desirable -Good organizational skills.
Presentation skills.
Ability to speak Welsh.
Good working knowledge of Electrical Design software e.g. Hevacomp, Cymap.
Is able to use Interactive White Board.
Is able to use a Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle)
Good practice competence.
Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work well without supervision, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Understand the needs of the individual candidate and be able to motivate others.
Is self-confident and has a high level of self-motivation.
