Job Title: Software Tester.
Location: Commutable from Swansea, Carmarthen, Llanelli, Port Talbot, Bridgend, Cardiff and other areas in South Wales.
Salary: £16,000 per annum.
Job Type: Initially a fixed-term contract followed by permanent employment providing you can demonstrate progress and development in the role.
Start Date - ASAP, September/October 2009.


We are currently working as a recruitment partner to a successful and growing company to find a Software Tester to join their team in South Wales. Working in a cutting-edge Development environment, the purpose of this role is to be a proactive member of the Quality Assurance team and test their software products. This will involve communicating with the Management and Development team and developing a strong understanding of the full cycle for the delivery and development of Web Applications.

The main activities for this post will include:
*Proactively liaising with Project Managers, Developers and other Testers to identify work to be tested.
*Testing the software for:
- robustness
- integrity
- performance
- usability
- accessibility
*Reporting on test results.
*Using internal tools and processes to record and track bug logs and fixes.
*Making recommendations for the improvement of the testing process.

Whilst the current project-based work will be a Manual Testing function, the long-term aim of the customer is to look towards automating their testing as far as is possible. The successful candidate would be involved in this transition from manual to automated testing when this occurs.

The successful candidate must have:
*Have a keen eye for detail.
*Be familiar with web technologies and IT.
*Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
*Have very good written and verbal communication skills.
*Previous experience of Testing would be advantageous (but not necessary).
