Leading Defence organisation require an experienced Communications Research Team Leader to join their expanding company in Gwent.

This role will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of all Communications Architectures and Simulation Research projects including design, implementation and funding plan. Also responsible for the management of the team members' personal development plan and careers within parameters and representing the departmental head in the UK.

This role will be to manage all aspects of research development within this area of responsibility. The candidate will be required to carry out all administrative and management procedure relevant to the role and collate research intelligence material for use in determining future strategy together with other Research Team Leaders. This role will require regular travel nationally and internationally.

Main activities will include the development of communications research projects, and such testing and customisation as required and managing the execution of such projects within budget, and on time; developing internal training sessions as required; briefing visitors to the team, managing individual personal development programmes; etc.

Applicants must have an extremely wide experience of communications research and have worked in academia and industry. Must be willing to manage projects as well as supporting research. Additionally knowledge of Satellite Communications Architecutures is essential.
